A Dream Closet Accommodates Your Storage Habits

We recently completed this beautiful shared closet for a South Tulsa couple. A few of their existing storage habits are built into their custom closet design. The husband needed space to store his large collection of T-shirts from races and events. The wife has several distinct categories of clothing: workout gear, casual wear, occasional garments and so on.

These clients also had a few specific requirements on their closet wish list. She wanted their closet to accommodate multiple seasons so she can rotate seasonal clothes into her shopping zone. The couple also wanted to take advantage of their tall closet ceiling and incorporate built-in laundry hampers.

Their new closet organizer incorporates these functions beautifully, with plenty of room up high and down low for off-season clothes storage. Pullout wire baskets around the base of the closet serve multiple purposes—sorting laundry, organizing linens and discreetly storing off-season shoes.

The layout allows the clients to keep categories of clothing organized with little effort. She keeps dresses and gowns on the left, long-sleeve cotton shirts up top, and sporty pullovers and jackets below. I love that "her side" of the closet supports her active lifestyle.
