Boutique Closet Shelving at The Boxyard Tulsa

Sometimes, I'm literally designing storage solutions inside a box—like Closets of Tulsa's boutique custom closet shelving installation for Beau&Arrow at The Boxyard. Creating a dreamy custom closet in side-by-side shipping containers was an unconventional challenge, to say the least! I had a blast designing the space with our client, owner Megan Saltink, and I'm thrilled with the outcome.

Designing a Custom Closet Around a Home Elevator

Other times, closet design takes us—pardon the pun—outside the box. This happened recently in a beautiful Maple Ridge home. Built in the early 20th century, the house had tiny closets typical of the time period. It also had all the charming historic details—including an original elevator! My clients wanted to keep the out-of-service feature intact while using the space around it to create more storage. So they remodeled, built a closet outside the elevator door, and called me to design custom closet shelving for them.

We do everything possible to design excellent storage while preserving architectural features that make our clients' homes unique.

In this case, we worked with original plaster walls, original base moldings, and of course, the elevator door. To install the closet shelving with minimal impact, we ran two-by-fours around the inside of the space.

These Tulsa homeowners wanted to preserve an unused original elevator while adding an adjacent closet. Closets of Tulsa designed custom closet shelving to suit this unconventional setting without sacrificing its historic value. Call Closets of Tulsa…
